I wouldn't say Flash is totally out. Flash is really starting to push the envelope as far as interaction is concerned, especially with 3D. For our beta site, we decided to experiment with a blend of Flash and Social widgets (thanks CP+B for the inspiration) to make it equally appealing visually and content wise. http://www.interactivehabitat.com/beta/

I disagree that local TV is "too expensive and pointless" for every campaign. Our local market continues to lag behind the curve in terms of the "new wave" of marketing via social media or even the Internet. So for those local advertisers who rely on drawing business from our local service area, the evening news broadcast can be a smart choice.

I do agree that it is expensive, but broadcast TV, including the evening news, will continue to play a role in an integrated campaign for some advertisers. There is no one-size-fits all solution for advertising.

Return on your investment should always be considered; if something isn't working (after being given time to work), pull it. The reality is that no one is seeing fantastic sales growth but your message as an advertiser still needs to be heard during the downturn.

Just curious how many of those polled were sequestered at home watching the news, hopeful that someone might announce that the recession was almost over, instead of out shopping and buying anything from those advertising.

Point is there are too many variables left out of a study, done for the owner of 29 TV stations, to rely heavily on the value of the results. Just because they reach 18% of US households doesn't mean that there is anyone watching.

Only when interruption marketing earns more than it costs should it be repeated. Otherwise seek elsewhere and employ other methods. Especially in local markets. Its way too expensive and pointless otherwise.

Just sayin'...

It's not too sexy, or sexy at all, just corny and poorly done.

Burger King seems to be relying upon a whole season of Sunday's worth of poorly produced interuptions in lieu of offering anything new, original or tasty to offer relative to competition.

It seems to be an attempt, lame as it is, to take the Mickey out of the rap / hip hop scene that is itself, undeniably out there shaking real booty all over the place. Compared to what's freely distributed on prime time already, this is tame in comparison.

I cannot imagine anyone getting flame broiled over it.

Behind it all is surely a first decade Baby Boomer who just doesn't get it.

hahaha thats soo funny why haven't i seen that!!
Anyway,, I think people make too big of a deal out of things. Why would it be geared toward children if it's advertising that the kids meal is 99 cents? Because kids don't care how much the kids meal costs- they're going to want it regardless. It's probably persuading adults to go there to buy more value meals because then they can get a kids meal for a dollar.
And sir mix-a-lot? if their kid already knows that song, it's no worse than the commercial. i'm saying, by using sir mix-a-lot, they were obviously appealing to the 80's/early 90's generation. if they wanted to appeal to the kids they could have just used the sponge bob theme song or something.

Keep in mind that the Google search results page often includes paid advertising and free organic search results. Keep in mind that the Google search results page includes organic search results and often paid advertisement (denoted by the heading "Sponsored Links") as well. Advertising with Google won't have any effect on your site's presence in our search results. Google never accepts money to include or rank sites in our search results, and it costs nothing to appear in our organic search results.
